The objective of this qualification is to give learners an awareness of mental health and an understanding of the basic principles of mental health. This knowledge-only qualification can be taken by learners preparing to enter employment or by those who are already in employment and wish to develop their knowledge of mental health awareness.

Unit 1 – Introduction to Mental Health, Mental Ill Health and Wellbeing

The First aid for Mental Health course covers the following modules:

1.

Understand mental health and wellbeing

2.

Understand how mental ill health affects the experience of individuals

3.

Understand the mental health continuum

4.

Understand ways to self-manage own wellbeing

How is this Course Assessed?

This course is assessed through one multiple choice exam with a pass mark of 60%.

Course cost and duration

The course is held over half a day and is available from £70 + VAT per person, depending on location. The cost includes exams and all course materials. If anyone should fail a free resit will be offered.
