The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire. The aim of this unit is to provide candidates with sufficiently detailed fire safety knowledge to undertake specific fire safety roles in the workplace to assist their employer in managing fire risk.

The learner outcomes are:

  • Understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
  • Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
  • Understand the principles and practice of fire safety management at work
  • Understand the role of the nominated fire warden

This qualification is assessed by a 30 question multiple-choice examination. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 20 out of 30.

This one-day course is fully certified, and is carried out by fully qualified instructors. Course dates for Fire Safety are available upon request and require a minimum of six candidates for the course to be held.
