Security Guarding (Level 2)
In order to work as a Security Guard in the UK you must hold a valid SIA Security Guarding Licence. There are three different units in this qualification all of which must be passed before the qualification is gained. This course is certified by Highfield Qualifications.
The Security Officer Course is split into three sections.
- Working in the Private Security Industry (40 Question Multiple Choice exam)
- Working as a Security Officer (40 Question Multiple Choice exam)
- Conflict Management (20 Question Multiple Choice exam)
All three components must have been completed and passed in or for the candidate to apply to the SIA for their licence.
Who is this course for?
This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to carry out manned guarding activities on a premises except where the activity only involves the use of CCTV equipment or falls with the definition of Close Protection, Door Supervisor or Cash and Valuable in Transit.
What do I need to do after completing the course?
Once you have passed all three sections of the course, you will need to apply to the SIA (Security Industry Authority) and pay their fee to gain your Security Guard Level 2 Licence.
Course cost and duration
The course is held over 3-4 days depending on previous qualifications and is available from £165 + VAT per person, depending on location. The cost includes exams and all course materials. If anyone should fail a free resit will be offered.
