Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) (Level 2)
In order to work as a CCTV Operator in the UK, it is a legal requirement to hold a valid SIA CCTV Licence. There are three different units in this qualification; all of which must be passed before the qualification is gained. This course is certified by Highfield Qualifications.
The CCTV Course is split into three sections:
- • Working in the Private Security Industry (72 Question Multiple Choice exam)
- • Working as a CCTV Operator (40 Question Multiple Choice exam)
- • CCTV Practical (Practical Assessment)
All three components must be completed and passed in order for the candidate to apply to the SIA for their licence.
Who is this course for?
This qualification is designed for anyone wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a CCTV operator in public space surveillance. It is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications. The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace.
All delegates that attend this course must have a minimum:
English language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening equivalent to the following:
- • A B2 Level qualification on the Home Office’s list of recognised English tests and qualifications.
- • A B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
What do I need to do after completing the course?
Once you have passed all three sections of the course, you will need to apply to the SIA (Security Industry Authority) and pay their fee to gain your CCTV Level 2 Licence.
Course cost and duration
The course is held over 2-3 days (depending on previous qualifications) and also requires self study prior to the course. This course is available from £165 + VAT per person, depending on location. This cost includes exams and all course materials. If anyone should fail, a free resit will be offered.
